Window on the Mediterranean
The Mediterranean Sea viewed from a castle window ($250)
On a vacation in the Costa Del Sol region of Spain, we were driving for a day trip to Granada. Off in the distance, we spotted an old castle, perched atop a mountain, near the village of Salobrena. We decided to visit what turned out to be a castle built by the Roman Empire. Getting to the castle was quite an adventure, but we made it, and were rewarded with some spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea, lying hundreds of feet below. This particular view is from a window-like opening in the castle wall. For this print, I added two layers above the original photo, adding an impression of depth. The custom wood frame is oak-stained poplar, with a natural rosewood border inlay. The simple corner decorations are recessed nickel silver domes and flanking wires.
